Biography

David Devereux is thirty-five years old and has been the Senior Field Officer for the paranormal protection & consulting agency Athanor for the last six years.

Athanor Consulting specialises in the most dangerous and difficult areas of psychic defence, advising a range of clients from private individuals, to companies and people in the public eye. As part of his work, David has methodically confronted and expelled malevolent spirits and other psychic entities from numerous disturbed locations, and has cleansed houses of violent poltergeist activity.

In private life he has worked as a mortuary technician, a bodyguard, and a bar manager. He writes comedy scripts and has provided voices for radio. As hobbies he enjoys cookery, real ale, art, music and messing around with aeroplanes. He's taught martial arts and acts as a senior steward at events across Britain. There's been some rock'n'roll along the way, but these days David is enjoying a slightly more relaxed lifestyle between cases and, while normally a pleasant sort of fellow, there are those who think of him as one of British magic's 'hard men', and certainly one that would probably not fit the image of a modern 'Ghost Buster'.

His first book "Memoirs of an Exorcist", based upon his experiences with the paranormal and occult, was published in May 2006 by Andre Deutsch, and his first novel, "Hunter's Moon" was published in June 2007 by Gollancz.
